MOVE IN MIND FOR PROFESSIONALS
The Method - Improve your professional practice
MAKE A DIFFERENCE WITH YOUR PRACTICE
Move In Mind™ is a method designed to increase proprioceptive awareness, enhance movement coordination and self-regulation, and achieve excellence in any type of performance. It is an invaluable tool for bodyworkers, movement trainers, instructors, physical therapists, movement teachers, holistic therapists, and coaches seeking to expand their effectiveness with a new approach, as well as for “movement professionals” practicing and teaching performing arts (dance, theatre, etc.), sports, yoga, Pilates, and related disciplines who aim to achieve optimal results in their practice and performance.

Move In Mind™ is based on the principles of Structural Integration and is designed to turn gravity into a resource, enabling excellence in movement performance through the integration of visuo-spatial imagery, proprioception, and movement planning. Its goal is to help individuals master gravity and execute high-precision movements while maintaining the capacity to vary movement qualities.
Move In Mind™ has proven to be a powerful tool both in performing arts and sports, as well as in rehabilitation following injuries—particularly brain and spinal cord-acquired injuries.

The method is particularly suitable not only for dancers and performing artists, but also for bodyworkers, manual therapists, structural integrators, movement rehabilitation practitioners, occupational therapists, movement coaches, personal trainers, life coaches, performing arts coaches, holistic healers, and other practitioners exploring mind–body connections. It supports the creation of new functional movement patterns and habits, offering practical applications of neuroplasticity for enhancing performance, recovery, and overall movement quality.

THE PRINCIPLES BEHIND THE METHOD
Besides strength and flexibility, superior movement performance must be supported by complex involuntary postural adjustments, which influence movement quality and fluidity, balance, coordination, and overall execution.

Move In Mind™ is based on the principle that by purposefully influencing the fundamental processes underlying movement preparation and control, individuals can improve movement execution. To achieve this, person-specific mental images with strong spatial, motor, and proprioceptive components are used to guide motor planning and execution.

These mental images are designed to engage involuntary processes, particularly the deepest intrinsic muscle fibers (i.e., tonic fibers), which support every movement by regulating posture and balance in relation to the gravity field.

In Move In Mind™, these mental images are integrated into a series of movement explorations and floor exercises to promote effective core engagement during any movement task and to consolidate the use of mental imagery in supporting precise and efficient movement execution.
FASCINATING FASCIA
When we learn to target and use only what is "essential", that means to work at maximum capacity in the most efficient, physiologic, economic and integrated manner possible, we can achieve effortless movement, strength and flexibility (the opposite to the old “no pain, no gain” theory). This becomes easier as soon as we become aware of the most amazing tissue in our body: our fascia. Fascia is much more than “a wrapping around the muscles.” Fascia is the “organ system of stability and mechano-regulation” (Varela & Frenk 1987) that gives shape to our bodies.

Every cell in our body is hooked into—and responds to—the tensional environment of the fascia, also called the “neuro-myo-fascial net”. Fascial elasticity has not been recognized until recently, and the mechanisms involved are still being studied, but it’s clear that if we want to train our body-mind system in a complete and effective manner, we have to train our whole neuro-myo-fascial system. Engaging long myofascial chains through appropriate whole-body movements is one of the best ways to train our neuro-myo-fascial system, and it is exactly what Move In Mind does.
